First report on comprehensive genomic analysis of a multidrug-resistant Enterobacter asburiae isolated from diabetic foot infection from Bangladesh
This study analyzes the genome sequence of a multidrug-resistant E. asburiae strain BDW1M3 from Bangladesh, which exhibited resistance to various antibiotics and biofilm formation. The isolate was collected from a diabetic foot ulcer patient and showed significant resistance to various antibiotics. The study also identified antimicrobial resistance genes and virulence genes, suggesting potential cross-species transmission. The pangenome analysis indicated an expanding E. asburiae pangenome. Further research is needed to understand the bacterium’s pathogenic potential and molecular mechanisms.
